I've slept very soundly these past six decades knowing I wasn't eating too many blemished cherries. I fear my insomnia is going to take hold again with the Evil Trump deep-sixing these vital regs.
Virgin olive oil? As opposed to slutty olive oil?
Well past time to end Washington, DC as a “thing.” Our reps can stay in their home districts and do their hearings and conduct their votes online. There is NO excuse anymore for politicians to troop off to Washington like it’s 1789 or something. If lobbyists want to sell their influence, they can fly out to Duluth on their dime to do it.
:-)
New standards for pie? Hasn’t it always been 3.1416?
I worked at a 7-11 on my way through college and a young lad plopped a Hostess fruit pie on the counter and said “What does it say about our society when a company can write ‘Made With Real Fruit’ on the label as if that is a unique selling feature?”
Good point.
Great song!
Does this mean that French Dressing must contain a certain amount of French....what? French dresses? French people?
I often tell this joke in Italian restaurants, particularly if the waitress is young and cute:
“Do you want to know what sort of olives are used to make ‘extra virgin olive oil’?”
She’ll usually grin nervously and say no.
“Those are olives,” I continue, “that have never even thought of being alone with a salad.”
While she tries to get her head around that I ask, “Betcha thought I was going to say something dirty, didn’t you?”
Wonder if they have a certain standard percentage of gators for Gatorade. Or standard percentage of girl scouts for girl scout cookies . . .
"Are they made from real Girl Scouts?"
“Its not always clear why some food terms have standards and others dont.”
Follow the money!
Cottage cheese? How do you count the curds in cottage cheese. Is there a standard size for large curds versus small curds?
Does this mean that French Dressing must contain a certain amount of French....what
Dont even ask whats in Baby Oil.
