Why not Elvis?
Johnny Cash? Nice. Skip Elvis, please.
Wait.. Johnny Cash is still alive?
I’m good with Cash. Heard his cover of “Hurt” the other day. Dark dark dark song. He did it better than the original.
Just like the el/hi schools and universities are dumbing down young folks about American History the Democrats are doing their best to change our history and tradition just like Michelle Obama said Barack was going to do.
Ummm...Johnny Cash isn't replacing anything.
replacing influential military and political leaders with entertainers and identity activists. Well at least the changes are accurately reflecting modern values.
Rose is the founder of Rose law firm. On the whole, I’ll take Cash.
You joke but we are very close to the day statues of Washington and Jefferson are ripped down to be replaced by ones of Beyoncé and Alyssa Milano
Things like that have been known to happen.
Carter and Clinton, too.
Eisenhower, Ford, Reagan, and Goldwater are already there.
Didn’t he have a Trailer blowup and burn down a Forest ?
Gonna go out on a limb and guess that Johnny Cash may have used the N word on occasion. Will they tear down their new statue when someone announces that he offends them?
I’m surprised some rich person hasn’t set up a private perpetual land trust, then installed very high quality statues of non-pc war heroes and statesmen. That is, make them out of advanced ceramic that is harder than steel and won’t show signs of weathering even after hundreds of years.
And they are displayed behind means to protect them from vandals.
Johnny Cash is the best they could do? Why not Bill Clinton sitting at his desk with a happy look on his face?
Barack and Micheal? Not amazing enough. I favor Mayor Daily. The only man who can resurrect the dead every Election Day! Now that is a true liberal messiah!
I was visiting there in October......
.....while I am opposed replacing our Southern, Civil War statues....
....they were promising the replacement would be Billy Graham.....
....that mollified me a bit
And now this!
Do they ever tell the truth?
As nice as Johnny Cash was, shouldn’t it be for heros? Connecticut two statues I believe is of Prudence Crandell and Ella Grasso. Prudence opened a school for Black girls in the 1700s and Ella was the first women governor elected without succeeding her husband (Thomas Grasso was my principal). Wonderful lady...(I voted for her )
