Never tried the stuff but looked into it for pain. Big pharmaceutical companies almost got it banned awhile back

I have taken kratom to help with chronic back pain, and sciatica. It helped a lot.
It took me 4 months to get off of gabapentin, that my doctor had prescribed 7 years ago for sciatica, before they made it a Schedule 1 drug. That IS physically addictive and cannot be kicked cold turkey.
Kratom does give a very slight mood shift.
Mixing any set of euphoric substances can create problems. Having been a Drug and Alcohol counselor, I soon realized that a certain segment of our species will search for something to change their reality. Why else would someone decide that licking a Colorado tree frog was a really good idea?
