Recommended conservative book: Stepping Off by R.B. Miller

Stepping Off recounts 25 years of Middle Eastern wars through the journals of former college sweethearts who became U.S. Marines. Their separate writings sketch the total Marine experience: officer and enlisted, battlefield and garrison, man and woman. Chronicling everything from historic battles to barracks chatter, both authors show fine ears for the language that defines everyday military life. Fighting from air, land, and sea, their interwoven careers reconnect in battle as Marines leave Afghanistan in 2014.

I read all 338 pages of "Stepping Off" by R.B. Miller, and found it to be of interest to anybody who would like to get a very realistic look at the life of U.S. Marines at various levels in the context of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Because the information is presented in a fictional story, it is more interesting and less-tedious than a non-fiction biographical account.

Mr. Miller writes at a high level, and although the book is raunchier than my typical reading material (at about the level of some of Tom Wolfe's material), I understand that the author felt it necessary to be accurate and complete in his portrayal of the life of a U.S. Marine. I know Mr. R.B. Miller to be both a full-spectrum conservative and very intelligent. I found this longish book to be a good use of my time, and it is well worth the "$4 Kindle/$12 large paperback" cost on Amazon.

I've read dozens and dozens of books about the Marines in WWII, Korea and VN.
But for whatever reason, I just can not read about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Nevertheless, I'll give Stepping Off a try.

If you can find another reasonable source other than Amazon, I bet I’m not the only one here who would appreciate it.

Amazon’s money goes to the WAPO, designed to sodomize America daily.

No other sources that I know of. I know, Amazon and Google are many tentacled monsters.
