Matt Mooney has Texas Tech on the brink of its first men's basketball national championship after a 61-51 Final Four win over Michigan State.
The guard was the surprise hero for the Red Raiders on Saturday, as he finished with 22 points at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Jarrett Culver struggled for much of the night but scored eight of his 10 points in the final three minutes to help seal the game for the No. 3 seed.
Despite facing numerous programs with more past success in the NCAA tournament, Texas Tech continues to keep its dream run alive.

I never expected Texas Tech to go this far...
I was well represented in the NCAA tourney this year. I went to MSU and TT (undergrad and grad), and finished up at LSU.
Glad there are other TTU travelers on this board, High Plains drifters, Caprock, and cotton country.
Arrow1 - you had to be on the horns of a dilemma for MSU v TTU.
Let’s go Tech!
Bobby Knight’s legacy lives on.
Can Owens go on that ankle tomorrow?
Auburn should have been there with them... Sad really.
Exactly. IU won a national championship (or 2nd? not sure now) the year after he was fired... So basically using the team he had assembled and coached for three years.
I had to take all my MSU flags down this morning, my assessment was that TT coaching tanked MSU they used Izzo’s defensive plan against MSU and it worked.
Wreck em, Tech! Although I must admit that in our office bracket, I had MSU winning that game. Never go against your alma mater. Oh well, I am going to win the bracket anyway as I have Virginia winning it all and I am comfortably ahead if Tech takes the Ship.
I hope so. He is definitely a shot block threat and he can shoot quite well for a big man. I would be a cripple for the rest of my life after what happened to him.
Yep, there should have never been a foul called as he double drilbled off of his leg. One to be talked about for the ages. Although, people forget how the same thing happened to Auburn in the first round against NMSU and their guy only made one of three.
Texas has already won the NIT. Could the Baylor women and TTU complete the cycle?
I am not in a pool this year, but when in I always go w TTU.
While at TTU, one of my classmate was NC native. He picked NC State to win that year ... and Jim Valvano delivered. Everyone thought my classmate was a genius - he was just being loyal!
These guys are tenacious. Go Raiders!
