Scent signals to your body that the food is good to eat and the body responds by processing it correctly, not just digesting it, but utilizing all the food.

Modern farming produces lots of food, but had that produce been around 50-60 years ago, they would have been declared inedible and thrown out.,

That old series Amish Cooking in Quilt Country said the Amish can eat thousands of calories a day with large amounts of fat and not gain an ounce all year.
