They “restored it” claims the Atlanta History Center’s website but I don’t know what they did to alter it since WAPO wants me to pay to read their article.
The article is not clear either, but it seems the article states it was ‘altered’ to reflect accurate history. I don’t care if the story is altered for accuracy or if a non intrusive overlay is done, but to actually add paint to this work seems like a bad idea to me.
