Even if true, those are the wages of treason.
Maybe to those that actually committed treason but unfortunately many who were victimized were not players on any side. In fact several situations involved some of the folks who were suppose to be the reason for the Northern cause to begin with. I was taught about the reason for the Notthern cause back in the ‘70s when I was in school of which I actually believed. Later after decades of extensive travel and some reading , I saw with my own eyes facts and evidence that was rather disturbing. You might say that I took the red pill and jumped down the rabbit hole on this issue. Slavery was very wrong. It was a terrible institution that was used by numerous nations throughout the centuries. As far as I can tell, the U.S. is the only country in the history of the world that used it as a justification for war when it was ended by less violent means in other countries.
