Jussie Smollett skips NAACP awards where he was nominated for a best supporting actor - as the brothers implicated in the alleged hate crime see their fitness business boom in the wake of the scandal

Jussie Smollett skipped the NAACP Image Awards Dinner on Friday night as controversy continued to surround him over the dismissal of felony charges for the false reporting of a hate crime.

His no-show came just hours after the two Nigerian brothers implicated in the alleged crime say their fitness business is booming off the back of the bizarre saga.

Thirty six-year-old Smollett arrived at LAX with a bodyguard and some of his siblings Wednesday - sparking rumors he might be in attendance at the awards show.

He traveled to LA.....so it appears he was ready to attend the awards ceremony.

Looks like the bros may have convinced him to keep out.

The Empire PTB threw him off the TV set b/c he was causing chaos for the actors.

Cant imagine he’d even think he’d be welcome at the NAACP gathering.

So a racist rabble rouser didn’t attend a racist award ceremony.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I was kind of hoping he woud win just for the absurdity of it all, but I guess it is good to see that corruption in this case does have boundaries.

IDK but am guessing he may have been nominated sometime ago, before his fustercluck hit the fan.

There was some speculation he actually might win - so somebody must have leaked to him ahead of time that he didn’t.
