Here are a couple more near us here in New England:
Wow, very cool! Thanks for the links Calfee Park and World War Memorial Stadium.
Here are a couple more antique ballparks my husband and I enjoy visiting when we're in the area:
Holman Stadium (Nashua, New Hampshire). Built in 1937.
Historic Grayson Stadium (Savannah, Georgia). Originally built in 1926. Rebuilt in 1941, after it was destroyed by a hurricane. Current home of the Savannah Bananas!
The guy in the pic in the yellow top hat and tails on the left is the young team OWNER Jesse Cole... he's a hoot, lol.
Thanks for the links. I didn’t realize that Waldorf, MD and Hyannis MA had baseball teams! Perhaps I’ll visit next time I’m in the area. I visit near Waldorf on occasion. Only once in a great while I pass through hyannis. I recall my then 3 year old asking the bus driver at Logan airport: “Is this the bus to go see hyenas?”
Subways have gotten better in some ways. Worse in others. More crowded in rush hours because more people are taking them. I used to be able to get a seat at my stop in the morning. Now it’s a little iffy because of the increased population.
The games are great to attend. Spring for the box seats. Don’t sit in the bleachers. It makes one hell of a difference. The parking lot isn’t awful, but it could be a pain to get out of there and then off Coney Island to the highway.
These folks have successfully captured the old ballpark experience and fans love it with the persistent sell-out attendance!
