My thought exactly. The fix is obviously in from the highest levels of the Demorat party, so why is Rahm (Dead Fish) Emanuel all up in arms about it. My guess is that this whole deal is sooo stinky that even Rham realizes he needs to run for cover on it.

I was just watching a YouTube vid from Stephan Molynuex where he was pointing out that a couple of members of the Congressional Black Caucus were trying to push through an "Anti-Lynching" law just before all of this went down. Strange when you think about the fact that the last actual white lynching of a black man occurred around 1965.

He postulates that the reason for the abrupt tossing of all charges was that there may be a trail of bread crumbs leading to high places. There are after all photos of Smallett dancing with Michelle Obama and her former Chief of Staff has a direct connection to the Chicago Prosecutor's office. The video is well worth a watch.
