The fact the case was sealed, his bond was forfeited, and “community service was done” - its pretty clear that along with likely pressure from politicos higher-up, the Cook County DA shoe-horned Smollett’s case into an Illionois “first felony offender” program, designed by “progressive” IL to keep young black men out of prison.
No comment will be made on Smollett’s guilt. Its up to the Judge and DA to come to agreement, and then the case will be sealed.

If indeed this is the case, Smollett will not utter a peep about this again.
He's already made a peep by saying he was truthful from day one.

Thanks for pointing that out. It stinks, but at least now it makes some sense.
You’re wrong on many fronts. Smollett (abd family) are being very vocal about his innocence.
Also, Smollett isn’t a first offender and you incorrectly described how the program works anyhow.
