No imprisonment. Death for the left is the only answer.

The last hanging kit I got was made in China. I didn’t know it till I got it. I returned it within 30 days for a full refund.

If only David Carradine had known about the return policy.

Reading your post, it suddenly hit my how DUMB life without parole is.

You did something THAT BAD that you can NEVER walk among the people again, then the death penalty should have been on the table.

But I guess that would mean MANY MANY Dead.

There were many photos from that day on the walls of the Hardee’s in downtown Mankato. Probably not that one, though. I haven’t been back there for years so I assume they’ve changed their decor.

Never mind...I skimmed the headline and connected it to the hangings ordered by Lincoln after the Souix uprising.

Most strikingly, from the time of their arrest until midway through their trial, all the prisoners except Mary Surratt and Dr. Mudd—under orders from Secretary Stanton—were forced to wear canvas hoods that covered the entire head and face.

I suppose that would stop any notoriety?

It only took 8 weeks in what was a very thorough and detailed trial.

America’s Justice system now is a clogged toilet

It is actually not that unique of its time, rather it was almost customary to have prisoners wear hoods so as to not interact with others during a sentence. Originally, this practice was used in Eastern State Penitentiary in the 1830s and was largely attributed to Dr. Benjamin Rush’s theory of human repentance. It was thought that prisoners would reform and receive penitence if they had minimal human contact, thus the hoods. Here, administrators do not expect repentance, so it is most likely carried out as a tradition.

Thanks for replying to my post.

I think it was the great Thomas Sowell who wrote that a distinction needs to be made between mercy and squeamishness.

Our culture no longer has the confidence to punish — and make an example of — murderers and traitors.

But there appears to be plenty of intestinal fortitude for ruining people’s lives for daring to voice opinions uncongenial to our Leftist elite.

It was a trial before a military tribunal, even though none of the accused nor the victims were military personnel. And there are a number of other ... irregularities ... that would get these convictions tossed today.

Was justice done? Probably. Was the letter of the law followed? Not so much.

The hoods were a variation of the tranquilizing chair?
