My wife and I toured with SRV the summer of 1984. We drove the equipment truck. We were already SRV fans when we were given the opportunity to do that tour. I believe that tour started in FL with Fabulous Thunderbirds opening. We moved up the East coast with Johnny Copeland opening in the NYC area. In the New England area, Roomful of Blues opened for us. In Texas and to the West Coast, Lonnie Mack (Oreo Cookie Blues) opened for us. We met a lot of wonderful people. Johnny Copeland was one of my favorite. Poor Johnny died in a hospital in NYC waiting for a heart transplant. I would have done that tour for free, if they had just ask me.
