My sister in Virginia Beach has a birthday coming up and since I live in Spain I was going to order something sent to her. I remember that Hannity always used to plug Shari's Berries so I went to their website and found something I liked, a dozen dipped strawberries for $29.99 using the Hannity radio special. Then I saw they wanted another 15 dollars for standard shipping. Ouch! I thought I saw a code for free shipping but when I went to their Facebook page I couldn't find it. Does anyone have a code for free shipping?
Look into shops in Virginia Beach.
I saw those codes. Looks like they want you to pay $30 for a dozen strawberries no matter what promo you use, which I don't mind. It's the $15 shipping charge that gets me. I'm on a hot Chile Pepper growing group and I know scores of people who send peppers all over the country in USPS flat rate boxes for less than $7. Double that seems a tad like they are trying to pad their profits.
Maybe I can try a VA Beach Facebook page to ask for shops in the area that deliver, or I suppose I could always send her a certificate to a local restaurant.
Seems a bit early for strawberries. Are these from South America or something?
Shari’s Berries are worth every cent you spend! I also was concerned because I sent a gift last year to my parents and my shipping was double yours ONLY because each gift I sent required their special packaging.
They have to pack them very carefully so that they don’t break but also to keep them really cold. That’s what you are paying for so just do it! I promise it is worth that cost and you’ll be happy because they are simply outstanding. My parents were just awestruck at the size the taste of Shari’s Berries and no I don’t work for them.
I had some from a gentleman who was trying to save money (ahem) and they were damaged and melted and really not so good. Just get the premium. After all, $15 is worth sending a very special gift. ;)

Florida Strawberry Festival ended last week.
The strawberries at our local produce market are massive, delicious tasting and only 5 Euros for a 2 kilo box. We buy a box, put some aside for eating then dehydrate the rest. But this is Spain, not America, and it is very warm here.
They are also doing some amazing things with food storage. We watched a program yesterday on how they store apples at low temperature but also with a reduced Oxygen content so the ripening process slows down to almost nothing. The "fresh" apples you buy nowadays at the supermarket can be up to 10 months old. I wouldn't be surprised if they did similar things with other fruits.
Can’t go wrong with the certificate. Don’t have to worry about how good it is...if it got there...
You make a lot of good points :-)
I just want you to understand the beautiful packaging and the great care they take. Trust me, its impressive. Youll never regret it, in fact, youll be so proud. And you can have confidence your gift will be executed in excellent fashion AND delicious.
If you end up choosing Sharis Berried please let me know how she liked it :o)
That makes sense. For some reason, with as cold as it has been around here, I forgot about the growing seasons in the deep south...LOL
Here’s a page full of coupons and promos. FYI.
How can you eat strawberries if you dont have any bananas?
It’s been my experience with discount codes you wind up paying for shipping. Conversely, no code Free shipping. In my case the discount code and shipping would have saved me $1.36.
So I just went with free shipping, paying full price, letting the vendor get the extra $1.36.
Bananas are about 80 cents per kilo at our local produce market.
You convinced me. I just ordered a dozen dipped strawberries. I will call her on her birthday to see if she liked them.
Awesome! You won’t regret it. ;) Lucky she.
CA. strawberry festivals are right around the corner, I work in a major grocery chain and the strawberries coming in right now are gorgeous and HUGE!!! Fresh strawberry stands are opening up on all the strawberry fields!!!
