I didn’t know that.

Thomas Sowell, VDH, Jordan Peterson, Mark Steyn, Heather MacDonald, The Hoover Institute, the Manhattan Institute, Cato...

So many good interesting thinkers and great ideas!

A good friend of mine is now with her 34 year old daughter who is fighting a particularly nasty form of leukemia.

Heartbreaking.

The man is a total mensch:

“To walk with kings, but never lose the common touch..”

He has a twin brother, they were both making a living near Fresno as raisin farmers.

Owing to weird weather, the bottom of the raisin market suddenly dropped out and VDH needed to supplement his raisin income by teaching, since he had a PhD in the classics.

In suspenders with a deep tan, he drove his battered pickup to CSU Fresno to articulately hit them up for a teaching position:

THEY DIDN’T BELIEVE HIM..!

Can you imagine speaking to him for over 5 minutes but not believing he had a PhD in the classics..?

Yet that’s true —he had to drive back home, ferret out his diploma, return to CSU Fresno and then try ALL OVER AGAIN..!

And the rest is, err...HISTORY.

In many ways the man is another Trump; relates to everyday people, but can overpower the elites in a flash.

How sad. I had no idea he lost his daughter at age 27. He’s such a wonderful and brilliant mat.
