Probably cast off to lighten the load especially at the bow given rough seas.
At some radial direction off where the anchor was found is a gold bouillon-laced breadcrumb trail that leads to whatever wasn't jettisoned before she sank.

YES, if only I had worked harder in school.
Maybe, I’d have come to that conclusion.
Additive Manufacturing (AM) 3D printers are huge in ship repair yards.
Sadly between the Luddites and the guilds, most of the good high tech equipment disappeared long ago.
