Perhaps the the communist principal did say equity.
I suspect most if not all of the people in Wanaque NJ are middle class people; I wonder if stated goals aside, this is just about DUI prevention. That area is a bit remote.
Limos aren’t safe? Okay. Show us the hundreds of stories backing up your claim.
Show up with a date who is up for the confrontation and a camera crew. Film every minute of any obstruction by the school system. Then send them an autographed copy of “Carrie” and tell them it could be worse.
More about the latter than the former. Socialism and radical egalitarianism are hot these days. It gets harder and harder to be optimistic about the countrys future.
If they really want to end prom they should make it free and mandatory.
Just heard on the news. Even the parents are not allowed to drop off the promsters. It seems the prom venue is far away, not at the school.
If this was in a bad area, I’d be suspicious of the “equity for all students” part - instead it is along the NJ/NY border, suburban bordering on rural; I doubt any children walk to school here (these areas share high schools due to the low population density). Besides DUIs, there is probably a high risk of deer strikes; these areas aren’t “child-protected” by the nanny state yet.
I’m not supporting the policy, just describing the area a bit more.
/yes, that's sarcasm/
Most of the private schools are run by Leftist/Egalitarians as well.
Not the these rich kids don’t already know who the REALLY rich kids are anyway.
It is not about what area they’re going to.
It’s about the limos. Limos don’t have as strict inspections as cars do. If a limo is about to swerve a deer, will it be able to do so safely? The deadly accident in UpState NY revealed how unsafe limos are. They were on a quiet country road. They should have survived.
Why take a chance having some kids in a limo that didn’t pass inspection? At least the school buses are inspected regularly. School knows the promsters will get to and from the venue safely. The school is taking responsibility for the lives of their students. It’s not about being a nanny state.
After the NY accident, Cuomo wanted to ban limos in NY. There was an uproar. I think limos are fine in a city because the roads are uniform. There are some roads here that I wouldn’t want to see a limo on.
LOL! I would love this! What is a Tuxido other than a simp suit anyway?

White town in Northern New Jersey.
School enrollment is less than 10% of population which is lower than a typical suburban school system. I suspect a lot kids go to private schools.
Public education is institutionalized mediocrity. We should encourage schools to demonstrate this loudly and clearly ... because that's the only way some people will ever figure it out.
Excellent point.Another (ironic) Reason to Homeschool?
I thought the prom was a reason why people shouldnt miss out on government school?
Ok, I understand everyone getting freaked over the "equity" comment but remember, when you send your kid to public school you have just embraced the government replacing you in loco parentis. Thus before we bash the school, etc have a good discussion about what the parents have knowingly given up.
Candidly, I can see lots of bullying emanating from the limo kids against the Honda Accord class. Across all the injustices the state can impose on your kids, forcing everyone to eschew limos ranks low on my list of triggering activities.
I seriously doubt this has anything to do with equity or equility or any of that crap. I mean limos? Really? Whats so special about that? Limousines and cruises are two things that back in the day used to be considered for the well off, but now are the province of the trashy and low class.
Yes, crashes happen even with busses.
It’s about how limos are built. They have a now known weak area.
I would encourage the kids to take a limo to and from the bus depot.
The bus idea would never fly here in Texas. Here, a group of kids/friends typically get together and their parents pool the cost of a limo. By doing this cost isnt prohibitive. Besides, by having a limo shuttle the kids around helps keep them safe and out of trouble.
perhaps you should drag that websters back out....
