The Monkees' surviving members Micky Dolenz and Mike Nesmith have commented on the death of fellow group member Peter Tork, who died Feb. 21. He was 77.
...
Happy trails dude. Play in the big band now.
Linky no worky.....................
They were a fun group for that era.
A time in our innocent lives when everywhere was in turmoil.
Bummer. I liked Tork ... he was so funny.
Well it is good to hear that they are not celebrating it
A time in our innocent lives when everywhere was in turmoil.
Yes....and, identity politics and social justice were NOT being forced down our throats, every time we turned on TV, to stoke the fires.
No, just plain old fashioned campy humor....with a few good pop songs mixed in, for balance and to attract younger viewers :-)
I was just thinking of “Happy Trails”. I heard Roy and Dale sing it at the end of their show yesterday and was thinking that they really could sing.
I like to think of Peter from the last scene in the introduction of the show.
They keep messing up his introduction and they finally get it right and he smells a flower and smiles.
RIP, Peter. Total crush on you when I was a little girl:

To show how popular they were.....
One afternoon, 2/3 of our grade school class was missing.
Our teacher asked where everyone was.
Theres a rumor that The Monkees are at The Holiday Inn.
A small, midwestern City.
My sister joined in on the frenzied mob waiting outside
when they showed up at a local radio station.
Dang, I am OLD!!!!!
“...We’re the young generation...and we’ve got somthin’ to sayyyy...” RIP, dude.
On the good side Davy can have a Monkee’s bud for company now.
RIP Peter. Thanks for the fun :)
I know. It didn’t seem like they were not that much older than we were watching them as teens.
And now they’re dropping from old age!!!
