Who knew? Your statement of any cause of HIV, other than licentiousness, I had never before heard published anywhere. Not to say I doubt, just saying.
Understanding that lipstick can be applied to any evil, I was first taken back that the president spent any “capital” on this subject, and in such a public manner.
However, the president was precise in clarifying exactly that his action was limited against those governments of the world who routinely use measures of cruelty, torture and barbaric manner of death on humans with HIV and against active homosexuals.
This actually seems to give no quarter to excusing homosexual activity, but represents an address of only
grievous laws on inhumane punishment— on a narrow and limited basis in his purpose.
Keenly, President Trump can now universally launch the same argument and justification for global action against the outrageous Shariah Law against girls, that the Communist LEFT doubtless supports around the world, for their own wicked purposes and benefit.
Is this wishful thinking?
Thanks for all that, RitaOK. I had not read the actual statement of Trump, so if he is referring only to those countries who use cruelty, torture and barbaric manner of death to homosexuals, then I’m okay with that.
And regarding licentiousness being the cause of HIV, this is true of course; and health care workers or others who get it via needle stick; the original vector is still those who practice licentious behavior. Some forms of sex acts are more likely to spread the virus as well.
But without the licentiousness, there would be no spread of HIV. Thanks for making that clear. Someone has to get it from someone else, to pass it on to a third person. Monogamy never spreads it.
Thanks for that analysis. I think this is fair to the president, but still left me wondering what was behind his *public* airing of such an objective. I mean that very well could have been made low key, but because it hung out there on its own as a headline, it made me think how he is using this. That’s when I thought of Shariah Law, and how that also could *possibly”* be addressed in the same universally public manner, on the same principle. Cruelty.
The president does nothing I can think of that doesn’t advance his agenda.
