The History of the Flores Settlement ["Catch and Release" for Families with Children]

Why, just a few years after a sweeping Supreme Court victory, did the Clinton administration agree to the Flores settlement? The stated reason was that the government was looking to finally put an end to over a decade of litigation that began in 1985....The settlement, however, seemed like a major concession by the winning side, and certainly one that could (and later did) crack the door open further for open-borders groups to exploit asylum laws for minors.

At several points in this essay the author openly suggests that the Clinton Administration had innocent intentions when it settled Flores, and that no one could have anticipated the Hard Left judicial activist decisions that would be generated by Flores in the future.

I think that conclusion is absurd.

The Clintons are, and always have been, political activists.

All I know is he treated the first attack on my beautiful Towers like a local crime with jail time for the attackers.

Or the second one may not have happened.

Almost 18 years already?? :(

I was only 31. Ready to conquer the world.

Showed up at work on 9/13 at Rockefeller Plaza.

Took 5 hours to get to work from Staten Island, walking over the Bayonne bridge and taking NJ transit to Manhattan.

Nice take.......the Clintons are sub rosa political activists. They never revealed their hidden agenda; they calculatedly hid behind it.

This also shows how the courts have massively expanded Flores beyond its original scope. Hence, an equally massive contraction is only the departure of RBG and one SCOTUS decision away.

It sure beats how we treated the second one as an excuse to erode civilliberties and invade Iraq.
