I would have seen it as a good chance to stash some income. Get a job and get extra money.

Let me get this straight ... they gave free money to unemployed people, the same amount they got from unemployment, removed the requirement to go find a job ... and the conclusion of the study is they were happier but less likely to go find a job?

Nobel prize coming soon for these researchers ... this is cutting edge results.
