Teachers have about 0.000000025% influence on student competence. Teachers have to work with the (lack of) material that walks in the door, and much of the material that walks in the door is pathetic.

I see your point. But I’d still like to see the study. American students are way behind students in other countries and money spent per student here is higher than in those countries.
