A bizarre customer meltdown captured on cellphone video shows a woman throwing bottles of beverages from fridges and sweeping items off shelves onto the floor before casually walking up to the cashier to try to pay for a bottle of Vitamin Water and a can of Pringles.
It's not clear what sparked the meltdown inside the QuickChek convenience store at the Harrison Plaza Shopping Center on Bergen Street Friday morning. Employees tried to confront the woman as she marched through the aisle and swept her arm down the shelves, sending merchandise cascading onto the floor, video shows.
She calmly strolled up to the cashier and, apparently waiting in line to pay for a bottle of Vitamin Water and Pringles she was holding, grabbed what appeared to be packets of gum or candy from a display and flung them back over her shoulders.
After she got up to the counter and took out her card to pay, she apparently changed her mind and ditched the items, walking out of the store and into the parking lot. She got a black sedan and peeled out of the lot, nearly crashing head-on into an oncoming car as she made a left turn.
Police in Harrison are searching for the woman in the tantrum.

I think she took way too much Ambien today, or some sort of drug. When somebody does this out of anger, they’re in a big rush to get the aggression out and go. This gal, is totally taking her time at the counter. The expression on her face is blank. She may wake up tomorrow and not remember what happened.
This is more than “What?-No-Ranch-Doritos?-Rage.”
They should be able to find her. I could see the full license plate number myself on the video.
Should have let her make the purchase with her debt or credit card then they would have all her info.

Yeah, I’m thinking some sort of psychotic episode, drug-induced or otherwise. Maybe some kind of manic cycle.
The store has all Hispanic employees. Maybe this is her way of getting even with a jilted Latino boyfriend.
She was actually going to use a credit card to pay for the drink. A total idiot, none-the-less.
I agree. Manic, because look at how well dressed she is.
She doesn’t need the food to survive. Look at her nice car.
I had a good friend totally lose it like this, except he was on a plane to the Middle East. The plane had to turn around. This was way back in the 90’s, before Air Marshals.
He recovered, but professionally, personally, his life has not been the same ever since.
