I’m going in May! I don’t want it to get TOO much good PR...
Mr RooRoo and I have been to Budapest, its a lovely city in a country which was persecuted and ruled first by Nazis then by the Soviets. Hungarians know what real oppression is, and they have great admiration for America and our values.
Still, my heart belongs to Florence Italy, I absolutely love Florence in every way possible!
Ann....... you will love this city. Spent 2 weeks there last year and fell in love with the city and the people. We hope to go back next year and as often as we can.
To those who go to Budapest..I would like to recommend Brody House as a place to stay. Gorgeous large suites, close to everything-7 minutes from the Metro.
We are going on 2 river cruises that leave from there, so we will be there for about 3 1/2 days!!! Going to Prague for 3 nites in between the 2 cruises!!
I can’t wait!! However....we are not going until JUNE!! We are doing South America in a month!! YIKES....my darling husband takes care of reservations....I Just PACK!
I lived there. Twice. Absolutely gorgeous city and extremely friendly people and very reasonable prices. Budapest is a gem. I LOVE it.
Prague is a very interesting and fun city also, you will love it, Ann Archy!
Prague is ground zero for Bohemian, really interesting shops, street performers and people-watching. I have a great photo of me standing in the main square with a gigantic boa constrictor wrapped around my shoulders. I had to pay the boas owner a few coins to hold the snake and have my picture taken LOL.
Yes it has protected its heritage and has not been overrun by leftists.
worldwide the cities run by leftists are hell holes.
One of our best trips. Prague, Krakow (auschwitz), Vienna, Budapest
OMG, we took a trip and went to Budapest, Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg, spent two weeks in those four cities, loved them!
went to salzburg on day tour. My wife’s favorite movie sound of music
Last fall we went to Krakow, Gadansk, Munich and Mittenwald.
We passed on Auschwitz, but did go to Dachau (near Munich). It was a heartbreaking and extremely sad experience, but we felt we should visit Dachau out of respect for the victims.
Munich was disappointing and horrifying, its being overwhelmed and destroyed by Middle Eastern and African refugees.
Salzburg is a beautiful small city, I loved it!
we went with another couple. He is Jewish. On the bus he said, now don’t talk t me let me experience this on my own. OK.
Got to the first building where they had the shoes and hair stacked up. He started talking and didn’t stop.
