I never seemed to pick up the ability to code.
Way back when, I took a C class and dropped it before flunking. The instructor would look at what I did and thought my code would work but did. Me and hardware get along ok.

I loved coding in COBOL, Lotus 1-2-3 for VAX-VMS, and Visual Basic for Applications.
I did so much Lotus that, after a while, I started thinking in code. It’s addictive.

I learned Fortran IV and HP Basic. That was enough to keep me somewhat conversant in other's work. Sure would not want to have to do it for a living,
I liked building things. Difference between engineers and CS types, maybe?
