A family staying at a Surfside hotel was left stunned after finding two swastikas drawn on the mattress of the babys crib they requested.
Zipora Waltner and her family were staying at the Grand Beach Hotel along the 9400 block of Collins Avenue when they made the disturbing discovery.
We requested a crib brought up to our room for my baby, and on the mattress there were two symbols, swastika symbols, drawn on the mattress, said Waltner. I was certain it was a swastika and still did a double take.
Waltner, an Orthodox Jewish mother of four visiting from New York, and her husband had to explain to her children why the furniture brought in for their youngest sibling was unacceptable and appalling, especially on a weekend that included Holocaust Remembrance Day on Sunday.
It was horrific. It was frightening to see, she said.
Waltner said hotel staff were sympathetic about their complaint over the mattress.
Its also very hurtful because it relates to my family very deeply, she said.
The family was eventually moved to another Grand Beach Hotel location in Miami Beach.
Speaking with 7News over the phone, hotel management declined to comment on the incident.
But Surfside Vice Mayor Daniel Gielchinsky said the town has zero tolerance for such displays of intolerance.
Here in Surfside, we do not tolerate hatred or anti-Semitism in any form, and we take it very seriously, he said.
If they're fresh it might be easier to find the culprit.
Did they screw up the left one so they did it again
or little Hitler slept here ?
Yes, some poorly drawn backwards anonymous crap ought to be worth a few million dollars.
Total victims them, yep.
The right one is screwed up, too: The branches should come out clockwise.
The images appear to be reversed, one less dark than the other, wonder if the cover was folded at some point with a single image that bled.
I remember in my 4th grade class a male kid would often draw those on his notebook pages.
National socialism and anti-semitism are certainly on the rise, and perfectly acceptable among most leftists, because Trump.
The poor baby will be scared for life and it will probably take years for the parents to recover.
another hoax.
One of those stories that makes me go ‘why the heck am I reading about this?’ Then I recall that it’s 2019 and we have the 24 hour news cycle and social media. Yay.
Freegards
Maybe the hotel is run by Hindus and they are wishing infants good luck
Boys in my elementary school classes practiced drawing these. Not because of the ideology, but because their fathers were WWII vets and it was a symbol from the times. They weren’t Nazi’s or anti-Semetic, just silly boys playing with toy soldiers.
Well the one on the right is a good luck symbol from Asia and the US aboriginals, dunno the one on the left - may or may not be one. Then too, perhaps a lawsuit to get a free room stay???
Let me guess, Mohammed from Room Service dropped it off.
Just a mix up, it was intended for the Guests attending the Trump Rally downtown.
The Cribs with the Nooses and MAGA drawings will be used at the 2020 RNC Convention for all the Never Trumpers Kids..

1.
engrave (metal, glass, or stone) by coating it with a protective layer, drawing on it with a needle, and then covering it with acid to attack the parts the needle has exposed, especially in order to produce prints from it.
A call or direction is given, 'The guest in room 101 requests a crib'. There's generally no name attached to the request.
Unless they were there for a long time and no one noticed it's unlikely housekeeping or the bellman knew the person the crib would be delivered to. To them it would have been a random room.
Nazis know how to draw swastikas. When they’re drawn improperly, it’s always a hoax.
From the picture it looks like a kid did it. I have three etched on my dining room table from one of my boys as they were doing homework. They have the telltale signs of which one they started and goofed up and which one they finished with because the better one looks practiced.
Big deal, right?
I found one of those muslin prayer beads thingy in a motel one time. Could not get it out to the trash fast enough.
