SAN FRANCISCO — Patrons of restaurants and coffee shops in Berkeley, California, who don't bring a reusable cup for their beverage will have to pay a 25-cent fee for a disposable cup as part of an ordinance approved by city officials to reduce restaurant waste.
Berkeley's City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the fee on single-use cups that will take effect January 2020.

YEARS ago, someone I worked with went to Russia on some church mission (not Mormon). She said they had vending machines that dispensed sweet tear. They had a tin cup hanging from a chain instead of cups.
Perhaps the coffee shops should offer that option as a snide reminder.

They will then demand and pass a law requiring any place that serves drinks, to have a cup washing station available for patrons.
Wont have to, there will ve enough nosy finks to complain if they dont like what a business is doing.

Good point. It’s almost as if these left wing cities are trying to encourage hazmat scenarios and illnesses in their cities. Perhaps they want people to die, bring bac ancient disease?
