A KMBC 9 News photojournalist's camera caught someone using what appears to be a laser pointer directed at Tom Brady's face during Sunday nights AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium. The first instance caught on camera was on a hand-off from Tom Brady to Sony Michel in the fourth quarter. The previous play was a punt that appeared to be muffed by Patriots' receiver Julian Edelman but was later overturned. Laser researcher Charles Cobb, DDS, MS, PhD., said based on the size of the spot, it looks like the person was sitting far back in the end zone, possibly in a corner. That one looked pretty diffuse, which implies to me its probably a laser pointer, Cobb said. He wouldve been seeing spots out there instead of his receivers.

More like a tech in the production room mess'n with the contrast.
Not unlike what was done to POTUS Trump at his last televised appearance on a local network.
My first thought was this was a pathetic attempt by the NFL to push the flagarant missed call that to me looked like blatant game fixing in favor of the LA Rams to page 28Q.
Then I looked at the video.
Know more than a little about lasers. That was at least a 5mW green laser pointer. If it would have hit Brady just a little bit wrong, it could have cause serious and permanent damage to his eyes. As in end of his career and lifelong vision issues. Brady was turning his head and eyes enough he didnt get a full shot. But if he would have stared into the laser pointer, permanent retinal damage could have resulted.
Again, the person responsible needs to be caught and send to jail.
No its what you call cheating on the fans. Dont excuse these laser incidents. You should be a shame of yourself.
No. That was a laser pointer. Or something stronger. Not video editing or artifacts.
Oh, please. In no way did I excuse that.
I am a New England fan and Kansas City has, by nearly all standards, pretty good fans. I wouldn’t paint them with that crappy behavior.
Eff the nfl forever.
It is a 1000 mw green laser.
My red is 5 mw.
Kneeling Felon League and their rabid fans and gambling fans.
Disband the NFL give the money to qualified math, English and real American History teachers, and everybody wins.
And there is almost certainly timestamped video of that part of the stadium it came from that they will be able to see it emanating from.
Heck, they have a website (I can't find it though I went there once) where you can look up a game, and find yourself...easily. This is from a game I went to, and you have a picture of the entire stadium, and just zoom in to where you are sitting and you get this resolution:
+1
thank you for sharing this.
Anyone can buy a 1000 mW laser for about $100 now. More powerful ones cost a bit more but not too much. Given much lower power ones can cause serious retinal damage, thats more than kind of scary. Reference regarding dangers: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/can-a-pocket-laser-damage/ (not a perfect article but makes the point).
On a bright, clear day, you would need a very powerful laser to be seen anywhere but the source and target. Also, while green is more visible to our eyes, all lasers can be seen, within the spectrum of our vision, if there is sufficient material in the air (typically moisture, smoke, any particles), the ambient light is not too bright, and the laser is sufficiently powerful. The reason green lasers are frequently visible is that green lasers are typically much more powerful than cheap laser pointers people associate with red lasers. A legit (not a cheap cat toy) red laser is a little less visible than a green laser at the same power rating, and many, if not most red lasers misrepresent their output.
I thought anything over 5 mWatt was illegal.
Green lasers are tracers, in that they are fully visable from point A to point B.
Would have been seen by everyone watching the play.
Common red lasers can be seen only AT points A & B.

Investigate the refs. Bad calls all year.
I've heard many times on this board that bad fans only exist in Philadelphia. /s
LOL, not only in Philadelphia, but perhaps in greater quantity...
Abusing Santa Claus on national television will do that...:)
