But, because I know Trump is a genius, a fighter, will never give in or give up, and has layers of plans and contingency plans, I think Something’s Up.
For one thing, I think the lengthy shutdown will generate a lot of RIF’ing - Reduction In Force (or whatever it is) - a LOT of useless and worse fedgov workers will be removed! There are thousands who are either incredibly lazy and stupid and useless, or actively and passively opposing Trump’s MAGA agenda in their positions.
Let’s see what happens next.... he’s letting Nancy Pee “win”. He could easily have done the SOTU address in another location. He chose not to. Not because the evil fiendess defeated him, but he decided not to for a reason or reasons to which we are not privy. At this time, any way.

Read several places that WH is preparing for shutdown to continue through March. Also several stating that work is getting done better without the non essentials who drag feet against POTUS programs. So get all the necessary changes made before they come back.
Maybe even get a good riff. Most impacted: EPA and Education. POTUS can decide what he’ll bring back to get through. For example, no green global warming crap, but some people handling oil and gas leases free to work without enviro weenies?
