A 29-year-old city man was accidentally shot in the face inside of an Avenue B residence, authorities said. Police were called to the residence, on Avenue B near West 51st Street, just before 5 p.m. on Saturday where they found the victim with facial wounds, police said. The incident is still under investigation, but it appears to be accidental in nature.

Authorities said a 30-year-old man was showing the victim his gun when it accidentally fired and struck the victim in the face. The victim was treated at the scene, and was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The 30-year-old Bayonne resident remained on the scene and was cooperative with responding officers, police said. The firearm, a Springfield XD 9mm pistol, was legally registered under his name.

How easy is it for a gun to accidentally fire?

What is the part of the face , which when struck by bullet, results in non-life-threatening injuries?

Maybe it grazed his face?

Cooper’s Rules

1) All guns are always loaded.

2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.

3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.

4) Identify your target, and what is behind it

Did the gun strike the victim in the face?

Guns don’t kill people bullets do. Well unless the gun strikes the victim in the face, over and over until they are dead.

A gun can only accidentally discharge if there is a mechanical malfunction. If it was not a mechanical malfunction then it was a NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE. Its no accident operating the initiating mechanism of a machine.
