Brand new they were not that great, understeer, French V6 (gutless) and tough to work on. Interesting concept and nice stainless body which some painted to have a diffent look. Not everyone wanted a stainless color car!

A few years ago, there was a DeLorean running around NE Columbia.

One day, I saw it sitting in a parking lot y itself. I stopped and talked to the owner. He bought it from a guy in the army. He said it was a lot of work to keep it going.

I looked inside. Too tight for me.

A DeLorean with a 300 to 400 HP engine might be interesting.

But, you’re right, no Renault engine. Ford and GM make some fine 6 cylinder engines today.

The last one I recall seeing on the road was in Savannah about 17 years ago. It was hand painted, with brushstrokes visible from 20 feet away. Evidently it had been crashed, and instead of getting new body panels they hammered and bondo'd it back into an approximation of its original form, then painted it.

Volvo V-6 POS Engine. I had the displeasure of fixing one after it got overheated and warped the heads.

The Head bolts are Stretch & Degree Torqued. They want the entire set replaced after taken apart. The car was a trade in at the Grey Market Euro Import Dealer I worked for. The cheap bastide owner wouldn’t pay for new bolts. I told him NO WARRANTY on My work and it will be in a Legal Document if I put the old ones back in.

Coddled together off shelf parts pile to make the POS. Robbed GM,Volvo,British brakes,BOSCH and LUCAS (Prince of darkness) wiring and I forget what else..

I’m thankful that I only had to work on that one, one time.
