Reminds me of a story from Dr. Walter Williams. He said he was outside cutting the grass one morning in his ritzy subdivision when a guy pulled up in his car.
That has happened to me a couple of times as well when I was new to the neighborhood and I am as white as one can be. Very few of my neighbors do their own yard work. Sad but true.
Closest I’ve had is walking through Home Depot wearing white painter pants with lots of different colors of paint on them. Some lady asked for my card.
I guess I looked like I knew what I was doing. I’m a good housepainter but wasn’t interested.
