Most people dont support changing the names of hospitals to remove religious references.
In a Claire Byrne Live/TheJournal.ie opinion poll conducted by Amárach Research, 52% of people said they are against such a move, while 34% are in favor and 14% are unsure.
Last weekend, hundreds of people marched through Drogheda to protest a proposal to change the name of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in the town. A petition calling for the name to be retained has been signed by over 8,000 people to date. [ ]
It is understood that staff members were given the option to vote for one of three alternative names: Drogheda Regional Hospital, Drogheda General Hospital and Drogheda University Hospital.
The Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is part of the RCSI Hospitals Group.

Won’t matter. They’ll have to change it anyway
Ireland’s EU masters don’t care what the Irish people think or want.
They are doing to Ireland what they did to England when they tore down the monasteries.
its all deliberately calculated....
such is the power of the cabal and their media minions....
“Catholic” Ireland has already sold out the Faith on abortion and same sex pseudo-marriage anyway...
Exactly. They should change the names. It’s evil to perform abortions anywhere but it’s extra evil to do them in hospitals named after the mother of Jesus. Change ‘em all to more appropriate names, e.g., Hillary Clinton Hospital, Che Guevara Hospital, Josef Mengele Hospital etc.
Excellent point. Whether it’s Mary or Jesus or some saint or other, if abortions are performed there, the religious should be clamoring for a name change.
They’re ok with changing the constitution to allow abortion but not this? Got it.
Exactly! If the hospital is going to be doing obvious non-Catholic treatments, it is no longer Catholic and the name must be changed to avoid scandal.
Yet most Irish support killing babies.
