Believe it or not, we have pelicans here in eastern Kansas. They are not endangered nor are the in wildlife preserves. They are wild and free.

White pelicans? I lived in Kansas, but never saw any white pelicans until we drove through Utah, I believe. Lots of brown pelicans in Oregon, now...not very many 40 years ago.
