I agree... and men are not smarter than women either. Intellect is a “potential” that we are all born with and the development of intelligence is completely arbitrary, though malleable. Some never reach their potential and some do. But it not controlled by the sex in any way. I have known some brilliant women, highly intelligent men, and dumbos across the spectrum lol.
That’s mostly true, but there is a difference. Men have a wider standard deviation. The smartest people will always be men, the smartest woman will never be smarter than the smartest man. Sucks to be a woman. On the other hand, it cuts both ways. The dumbest person will always be a man, not a woman as well.
All this comes with a note that we’re only talking at the extreme ends of the spectrum. We couldn’t even IDENTIFY the very smartest probably, and even the smartest woman is far far over my head. In practical terms it is exactly as you say - a combination of ability and effort.
