I had heard Brady has been paid “off the books” in a very creative way to allow the Patriots to keep him, and pay the large amounts he deserves (deserved?) while still allowing cap room for other key players. Any Patriots fans out there who can enlighten?

Others in the AFC East are praying for the day he leaves.

Yep. It is estimated Brady’s 2016 income was $45 million or so. NFL salary was less than half that.

Brady has restructured his contract at least twice to allow room for other free agents players and keep the Pats under the salary cap. Brady is underpaid in relation to many other NFL QB’s. This season was not Tom’s best. Overall he was middle of the road. He is still the GOAT. That is what the New York papers hate. He will enter the NFL Hall of Fame on first ballot. The Pats have dominated the NFL ever since Brady started playing.

As far as other AFC teams go. Who has the most wins at New Era Field home of the Buffalo Bills? Answer: Tom Brady
FYI, I grew up as a Bills fan and remained a Bills fan until they benched Doug Flutie. Then I became a Pats fan.

The only place he consistently has had issues is playing in Miami.

My prediction is the Pats will lose the AFC Championship game to KC. KC/NO Superbowl. NO wins

Complete hogwash. The fact is his wife makes a lot more than any NFL player, so he doesn’t need the cash. And he gets plenty from endorsements and modeling on his own. The punishment for cap violations is intense, not worth the risk.
