SAN ANTONIO, Texas (WOAI) Police officers said they stopped and arrested a man who allegedly said he was on his way to a church with a gun to "fulfill what he called a prophecy." The Seguin Police Department said in a Facebook post they stopped a man Sunday morning just before 7 a.m. on 2400 West Kingsbury Street who was carrying what was believed to be a handgun. An officer arrived at the scene and saw that the man was wearing tactical style clothing, a surgical face shield and was carrying a loaded gun with extra ammunition.
Authorities said that Tony Albert, 33, was allegedly on his way to a church to "fulfill what he called a prophecy."

Fortunate!
I’m sure the church like most churches are gun free zones...all should have designated, trained, concealed carry members.
Probably not a “Breaking News” story. Forgot that it would post this way.
Mention of marijuana behind the link.
Most churches in Texas don’t post 30.06 signage.
Most churches in Texas dont post 30.06 signage.
...
Wish it was like that here...
Dayum. Close one. Time for this nut bag to be put away for life in an asylum.
Dang, good thing he wasn’t fulfilling his prophecy in Broward County or Los Vegas or Orlando or San Bernadino or Newtown...they’d let him walk on by, so they’d have more leverage.
But,,, depending on the size/location/members, there could have been too many outcomes to list here.
Thank God he was stopped where he was.
I believe it is because it is against the law. You have to have permission to carry.
In our church, the guy would be filled with lead.
There are many churches in our area that now have either armed security in the form of uniformed police officers, or concealed carry members that few people know of.
Were the police called there?
I see where an off duty cop saw an oddly dressed man wearing a surgical mask. So did he simply ask the man what he was doing, and all the craziness just started coming out?
Stranger things have happened.
Uh, yeah, God said he was cool with it.
“Police officers said they stopped and arrested a man who allegedly said he was on his way to a church with a gun to “fulfill what he called a prophecy.”
Relatives said they are shocked that anyone would suspect him of violent intentions. They said he was extremely devout.
Then by all means bring on the prophecy.
Our church has armed security. I’m guessing that’s the trend now.
Nothing in the bible says it is a sin to protect yourself and fellow church members.
To this day I’m still trying to figure out the logic of a “gun free zone”. Yes, I know what it means, that guns are not allowed in the area, but it’s based on absolutely no logic whatsoever because someone who wants to shoot people is not going to pay attention to a freakin sign. To me the only thing that WOULD make a sign like that logical is that it’s an alert to people who wish to shoot people that nobody will shoot them back. If that’s not the case, then “gun free zone” is based on absolutely no logic whatsoever. If they wanted to prevent shootings wouldn’t they have a sign that says “armed public zone”?
Outside the four blue cities in Texas, a gun assult against people isn’t going to happen again.
Always conceal carry, folks. Especially in church.
