Meh. I would place it in the top 10 list of recent comic book movies, but not anywhere near the top of the list.
But since the Academy Awards only go to politically correct movies these days, I suppose it is better that they give one this year to a movie that people have actually paid money to go to a theater and watch.
Family watched it last night, we were bored and there wasn't anything else that we hadn't already seen. Anyway, I agree with your assessment. I think it only got all of that press and a over the top Tomato-meter simply because it was a "black" film.
