Move The Capital ToThe Border States

Posted on 12/19/2018 9:28:43 AM PST by ExpatCanuck

Make the Washington elites of both parties live and work on the border states. I know it will never happen, but these guys live and work in gentrived neighborhoods where they are never directly exposed to the impact of illegal immigration.

Northern Virginia is infested with MS-13.
They live in gated communities, but they are still seeing the carnage they are creating.
They just don’t care about American citizens.

My vote: Eliminate 99% or more of the Capital.

The President should live in the White House. Otherwise, the vast majority of the government should be dispersed among all 50 states, not with DOD in one state and DOE in another, but with each Congressman and Senator in their home states and with each department coordinating via email, teleconference, etc., among employees in all 50 states. Also, spending should require separate votes on each line item with a separate sign/veto decision for each.

Let elitists live with the normal people who pay their salaries instead of isolating themselves in their special enclave.

Would take an Act of Congress.

Residence Act

The Residence Act of 1790, officially titled An Act for establishing the temporary and permanent seat of the Government of the United States (1 Stat. 130), was a United States federal statute adopted during the second session of the First United States Congress, and signed into law by President George Washington on July 16, 1790. The Act provided for a national capital and permanent seat of government to be established at a site along the Potomac River and empowered President Washington to appoint commissioners to oversee the project.

I don’t see why they can’t move the Supreme Court every twenty years.

Also, move the house of representatives to one location and the Senate to another.

Why not just make them live down the street? As you walk down C Street SE, past Senator Joe McCarthy's old house, about three blocks from the Library of Congress and the Cannon House Office Building, you'll see evidence of crime, such as burglar bars on windows, and this evidence gets more pronounced as you walk past Seward Square and then Eastern Market. Walk a few more blocks down Pennsylvania Avenue and you'll find yourself in beautiful downtown Anacostia

Actually I would prefer it in a central state like Kansas so it would be easier for all citizens to have access.
