I think I’d rather be in the Wermacht than Stalin’s army. If nothing else, the uniforms were much cooler.

All seriousness, as bad as it was in the German Army, at least if you had gotten captured and made it home, they wouldn’t throw you in the Gulag like the Soviets did.
