Some moronic Metro Nashville Councilmember, Sharon Hurt, wants to seriously rename the Nashville International Airport for Oprah Winfrey. Please vote this poll down (on right side of page - please scroll down) and vote NO on this ludicrous suggestion.

Thanks. She hasn’t even lived in Nashville in 4 decades (she grew up here, anchored the news at 20 for about 5 minutes and then left for Chicago). Some boneheaded moonbat on the Metro Council just floated this idea. Ultimately, it’s up to the airport folks to decide, since our council can’t change it unilaterally.

I suggest naming the airport after Chet Atkins. Or is that racist since he’s an old white dead guy? Nashville can rename their version of Martin Luther King Blvd after Orka.

There are two reasons to not name the airport for her:
1) She is still alive. It is a bad practice to name public property for a living person. You do it to honor the dead.
2) She is not known for her association with Nashville. She is legitimate celebrity, but clearly associated by the public with Chicago.
