Baseball HoF lost all credibility the moment they kicked out the most prolific hitter in history - Pete Rose. For something that had nothing at all to do with his playing career, no less.
At the risk of igniting the Pete Rose debate, we all.know why he’s not eligible for the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame does not consider players who have been banned from baseball.
Pete did that to himself. There is no betting in baseball.
You can’t kick someone out of the HOF if they were never in it.
I believe that there was very good evidence he bet on baseball, and even games he played.
That has much to do with his playing career.
I could’t agree more. He was screwed over big time. Enshrining him doesn’t take away from the sport one bit. It gives him his rightful due. If the integrity of the sport mattered that much that would disqualify all sorts of players from the 19th Century until now, especially Cap Anson, John McGraw, or Ty Cobb.
