Another doctor I enjoy, and two of my favorite companions. "Song for a Winter's Night" by Sarah McLachlan for Rory and Amy.
And because it's hard to leave the doctor out of all the romance, "Anticipation" by Carly Simon for Riversong and the doctor, even if it's not Christmasy.

I hope BBC does a quick kill off of the current female doctor and goes back to a male. I have not and will not watch a single second of this current doctor and unless they replace her soon I am done as a life long doctor fan. The libs just had to screw it up like everything else they make it a social experiment.
Thank goodness for DVDs. You can stop time, ala the doctor, and never give up being an old doctor fan.
I guess I’ll have to think about more fandoms for that song.

Thank you for smiling at them with me. I was absolutely obsessed with this show and loved making them.
I tried to stick with the new show even with the inclusion of characters like Jack Harkness, but gender-bending the Master was too much. Now even the Sixth Doctor with Colin Baker seems classic by contrast.
I never bothered, so I didn’t know they added Jack Hardness. I had REALLY liked him, so you’re actually tempting me to try it now.
I know what you mean. I won’t watch the newer ones. It was bad enough when they viciously got rid of what’s her name boyfriend, and then when they tossed in Peter Capaldi, one of the worst Dr.s, of all time, I no longer enjoyed it, but now they’ve made the doctor a woman, and I refuse to watch it anymore. It used to be campy fun, with some pathos thrown in with a little romance, but no more. As much as I enjoyed David Tennent, the Captain Jack character, especially knowing he was played by an “out, loud and proud, and in your face” actor, turned my stomach. I don’t hate gays, I pity them, and deliberately flaunting them,vane proud of it, is bent. Started out as a children’s show, too.
I thought “Song for a Winter Night” was by Gordon Lightfoot.
I never looked up who wrote it. I only reference who sings it.
Lightfoot wrote it and its on his first u.s. released album.Covered by many, many other artists. His version on his first Gords Gold album...strings and french horns made me realize just how great a songwriter and singer Lightfoot was and is ( his voice isnt very good now)...but he still sings. Song brings me back to cold winter nights in the mountains of pre protocommunist california
And to think, the BBC used to forbid Beatle music over their airwaves.
