I'm actually ridiculed by colleagues because I don't know who the hell most of these people are. My ace in the hole is to ask them what was the last book they read. The most popular answer is "I haven't read any books since school". I used to ask what was the last non-fiction book they've read, but was met with the dull stare of a dairy cow.
Bingo. I have never watched the Golden Globes, and that is a streak that I do not plan on breaking.
