These junkies are just going to go out and get another fix as soon as they can. Whats the point of rescuing them? A lot of resources expended on them that could be going to worthy victims.
I know a couple who had a heroin addiction back in the late 80s early 90s. They got it back together, stayed married, and their daughter is ok as far as I know. It happens.

IMHO, the Narcan thing is a "one and done". One dose, one time only. You have an opportunity to turn your life around, what you choose to do with it is up to you. But make no mistakes, the taxpayer isn't going to rescue you from yourself again.
As much as I hate to admit it, I agree, and from first hand knowledge {not from using, but observing}.
The idea that reviving an OD, hard core junky, is doing anything but delaying the inevitable is a fantasy.
My bet is 98% of OD revived people, go right back to drugs, and many, if not most, end up dead because of drugs {not counting the number of people they kill along the way}.
Having seen the death that hard drugs bring, I hate them, the sellers, and even some of the users {although it is a hard habit to kick}.
