He got away with it. Your government knew about it and did NOTHING.
Both FDR and Truman served in WW2 — as Commanders in Chief.
Maybe now we can finally find out who killed JFK.

This rotten bastard single handedly ended the Reagan revolution, AND established the deep state as our masters.
Good riddance.
I hope he rots in hell.
Didn’t Q predict this?? Lol!
Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman served in WWII as Commander-in-Chief—as did Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson during the Civil War.
The relationship of presidents to their military is no different than that of a mayors/governors to their police departments: While they are in command of their military or police - the latter are not serving in the police and former are not serving in the military.
Don't believe me, look it up!
Headed for the new world order in the sky.
But according to the Constitution, the president is the commander-in-chief, and he has the ultimate authority over the armed forces. The National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas honors all of the presidents who served in the war and includes Truman and Roosevelt.
But speaking only of "service," State Department employees abroad are called the "US Foreign Service." And while the President and many other civilians in the federal government (State, CIA, FBI etc) may be honored for their service to their country during a war, their "service" is not "military service," no matter how critical it was to the military effort or even if their title is "Commander and Chief."
Unlike many other country, the US has for its entire history held firmly to its doctrine of Civilian Control of the Military - which could not be the case if the President was not a civilian but part of the military:
Indeed. FDR was never actually in the Armed Forces. But he was Secretary of the Navy. And during most of WWII he was Commander In Chief.
Truman was a WWI veteran. Following the Great War he transferred to and took an active role in the reserves. He volunteered for WWII service but had to content himself with service as an elected official and eventually Commander In Chief.
Jimmy Carter was a Midshipman at the US Naval Academy during WWII. USNA Midshipmen are in an active duty status. And in those days, they were part of the United States Navy vice their NROTC counterparts who were in the Unites States Navy Reserve. So I stand corrected. Carter is our only remaining President to have served in WWII.
The days of Presidents having wartime service are slowly fading away. This is more of a loss to the country than many realize.
Hard telling. I’m sure its quite a story!
Good post. I love when people question events, in ways that normal people would only be amused by or ignore, and then a bunch of posters show up enraged, trying to shame them into silence.
