They aren't allowed to have them, but they get smuggled in or tossed over the fences. Then the prisoners hide them. The authorities don't always know that a cell phone is hidden somewhere in the prison, and even if they do, it's extremely difficult for them to find it. Sometimes the authorities spend months looking for just one.

I don’t know, I can see pros and cons. It definitely makes it easier to monitor their communications. I’m not a prison “guard” but the ones I know are not too fond of the idea. They are the ones who have to handle getting flung on, sucker punched , challenged, and conspired against. I’m tempted to take their side even though I’m not in their shoes.

I probably shouldn’t have posted about the fake Q on Twitter but he has a huge following of over 80,000 and that’s a lot of people following a fake. My thought was that it might be somebody reading this forum and repeating things as if he were the real Q. He had me fooled until I found this ping list.
