“Once every three months, just like clockwork, Chris Matthews says something reasonable.”

This isn’t necessarily “something reasonable.” Hillary Clinton and John Kerry signaled a Democratic policy shift away from supporting the refugees. This is because the recent eliminate-ICE polled very badly and had to be dropped as an agenda item just before the midterms. (The polls showed 80% of the voters thought it a bad idea.) Hillary’s point is that the refugee crisis is creating a conservative vote-getting talking point. “White people” are afraid of the brown rabble and will vote conservative to stop it. Hillary wasn’t concerned about any other issues, just that the refugee crisis was getting people like Trump elected; thus taking votes away from Democrats. Chris Mathews is merely reflecting the policy change. Incidentally, once in power you can bet the refugees will be admitted en masse.

Bingo.. nothing brilliant or conservative to see here.. he is just accepting marching order from dem leadership. Drunk in power aristocrats. They got spanked in the midterms thanks to the Presidential bully pulpit.
He has them on the run.. will he push them into border funding?
