Today was roster deadline day for the Rule 5 draft
CHI add many players?
BoSox add 5 and one by trade
I’m pretty certain that Ohio State’s chances to break into the top 4 are almost nil. However, they can definitely play spoiler and keep Michigan out (depending on whether the Jeckal or Hyde defense shows up).
As a former Ohioan, I would certainly want to see Michigan knocked out of the championship.
My daughter attended UCF so I am a bit partial to it. However it needs to play rated teams a bit more frequently if it wants to be in the playoffs.
UCF put a thrashing on Cincinnati last week and the committee took notice.
1. Alabama (11-0)
2. Clemson (11-0)
3. Notre Dame (11-0)
4. Michigan (10-1)
5. Georgia (10-1)
6. Oklahoma (10-1)
7. LSU (9-2)
8. Washington State (10-1)
9. UCF (10-0)
10. Ohio State (10-1)
11. Florida (8-3)
12. Penn State (8-3)
13. West Virginia (8-2)
14. Texas (8-3)
15. Kentucky (8-3)
16. Washington (8-3)
17. Utah (8-3)
18. Mississippi State (7-4)
19. Northwestern (7-4)
I thought Ohio State lost their THE earlier in the season.
go bucks
Holding my breath as the Irish play Southern Cal this weekend.
Oh well... what, about nine and a half months until next season? It'll be here almost before we know it.
Heck -- that may end up being a miniature national championship game itself.
Alabama will have to defeat the number 5 team in UGA, the number 4 team in the first round and the winner of the 2&3 matchup. If they accomplish that feat then hats off to them.
That said, I think Urban out-coaches Harbaugh yet again, next year Harbaugh probably beats them(not necessarily him, he might be gone)to keep his job.
Winovich(U of M's best player)banged up, if it turns into a high-scoring affair I don't think UofM has the player-makers/QB to keep up.
...also doesn't help when you have idiots "guaranteeing a win" either(especially in Columbus????....what a maroon)
If Ohio State beats Michigan, Georgia might well take the #4 spot.
It’s a huge rivalry, but Michigan is really strong this year. They are playing in Columbus.
Ed
I really don’t see how THE Ohio State University, crushed by Purdue, escaping with their lives from Penn State and Maryland, rate being #10.
LSU beat Georgia this season, so they should end up ranked ahead of Georgia if they both end the season with two losses.
Amen. Go Irish!
But yet, they soundly beat Michigan State. But yeah, they don’t have that “zip”. They’re not a top 4 team, and might not even be a top 10 team.
The Purdue loss was huge.
I know that it’s not likely, but what if Georgia beats Alabama!
Now THAT would be a true upset.
I've seen one analyst say that Alabama would drop to number four and Georgia would stay at Number five if Georgia wins.
